Tribe Nine Studios was founded in Kingston, Jamaica, by Troy Oraine Williamson.
Dedicated to the culture that raised him and never received its due, the brand draws its language from Caribbean life itself: the higglers who dressed with instinct before anyone called it style, the sound system men who turned a street corner into a stage, the market women who moved through Kingston before the sun came up. Tribe Nine takes what was overlooked and gives it the reverence it always deserved.
The house works across ready-to-wear and accessories, referencing the rhythms of island life and the universal language of craft, from the weight of a hand-finished seam to the architecture of a well-built bag. Each collection is a study in restraint: considered materials, deliberate construction, nothing made simply because it can be.
Tribe Nine takes its name from a belief the founder grew up with, that giving your all means leaving nothing behind. Nine, in that sense, is not a number. It is a standard. The Kingston Tote, the house's first accessory, was released on Jamaican Independence Day, inspired by the mesh marina long worn through the streets of Kingston, reimagined as something you carry.
